LAN hosts won't be able to arp for the MAC address of a VPN host, unless the SRA is going to do proxy ARP for them. VPN clients sit on the same subnet as LAN hosts, but not the same broadcast domain, this causes issues with ARP.

But that network is directly connected to those gateways so you can't really do much with routing to tell them all how to get to the isolated chunks, I.E the VPN clients. You have multiple "chunks" of that /23 via different gateways. I'm guessing the latter, and that's what I've told the customer, but i'd love to know whether other people with a Sonicwall have had any issues accessing other subnets when connected? (i'd ideally like to know from people who have a working setup) So, is this an issue with the Netextender client? or is it an ACL on the ISP-supplied MPLS router? What I did try and troubleshoot was to add a static route in the Sonicwall to the 172.20.55.0/24 network, and that stopped the tracert straight after the client address, rather than just after the RRAS box address. What I can't do though is ping the address from a client using the Netextender, despite me seeing the Netextender client has picked up the client route i've added.

I can ping an address (172.20.55.247) down the MPLS tunnel from a PC on the LAN, I can also ping the same address through the diagnostics section of the Sonicwall. So, the Sonicwall is set up as a LAN device at 172.20.57.50, and it's giving out 57.51 to 57.100 as client IPs. The PDC has static routes to the other networks accessible down the MPLS, and the PIX is used purely as an internet connection. 253 which is an MPLS connection to the company's other sites.

3 (don't ask!), there's also a PIX firewall (that i'm almost about to replace) at. His network is 172.20.56.0/23 (.yes, /23), and the default gateway is a RRAS service on their PDC at. So i'm troubleshooting a Sonicwall VPN client issue for a customer. Rule #6: Homework / Educational Questions must display effort. Rule #3: No BlogSpam / Traffic re-direction.
